Indemini – a smuggler village, by Thierry Kleiner

Indemini, a smuggler village ‘Indemini’ is a small village in the Valle Veddasca in the south of Switzerland bordering Italy. A village, which lost 90% of its population in the past 50 years. Due to its geographical position, it is used by smugglers. First they smuggled goods, today it’s a main entrance for clandestins. My intension was to imagine how it must be to creep through the dense wood, through the sparely illuminated alleyways of the village, to gain the ‘promised land’.
